01 — BACKGROUND
Background
Beyond product UI, the company needed consistent illustrations and icons across sales materials, the help center, and the marketing site. Outsourcing didn’t scale; one in-house designer producing everything by hand wasn’t realistic.
02 — APPROACH
Approach
A senior designer defined the illustration style guide and trained the AI on it. Each new use case followed the loop: AI generates, designer reviews and adjusts, the result lands in the library. Designers shifted from “drawing” to “refining and selecting.”
- Defined line, color, spacing, and motif rules thoroughly and converted them into instructions for AI
- Stood up the AI generate → designer polish → library entry loop as standard practice
- Same setup for the icon set: 200 original icons in three weeks
